Charity Documentary
This is a story about the Bukovets School in Ukraine's Carpathian Mountains, filmed in spring of 2019 by Steven Brese and Stefka Lytwyn.
The K-12 school in Bukovets, Ivano-Frankivsk Region, Ukraine is in need of support.
The teachers and staff are motivated to teach students, not only the necessary curriculum for a good education, but also the traditional "Hutsul" way of life. Unfortunately, these teachers lack the proper support & resources (textbooks, projectors, stationary), and the school building itself is crumbling. The government budget for the school is not adequate to support the infrastructure, salaries of teachers and support staff, and day-to-day operation of the school.
